While I'm used to recognising a park or a coffee shop in one of these games from another one, this is the first time I've burst out laughing on the very first image because I've recognised something.
Daft as it may sound, I recognised the pattern on the seats on the train. A couple of images later I got definite confirmation when I saw the map of the train lines behind the MCs head. Even if it's blurred, I could name every station marked on the map. I've lived at two of the ones visible, worked at another, and if he'd leant back a bit, there'd be two more I've lived at and two more I've worked at.
For a short while I expected the game to be set in the UK, especially when he spoke to the woman nearby. While I think those trains have now been withdrawn, I still travel to work every day on that map, and I reckon I spent fifteen years or so sitting on those seats staring at that pattern opposite me.
I am enjoying the game but I'm afraid the amusement of the train seat pattern remains the most entertaining bit for me so far.
charging money for incomplete games? thats how games go bust. you don't ask your employees, (beta testers), to pay their own damn wages. oh wait, yr not even paying us wages for our services. finish yr damn game, then put a price on it.
Bare Witness was free for well over a year. In that time, there have been nearly 13,000 downloads, of which only about 65 chose to pay anything for the game. While the project is still in development, we felt it was no longer fair to continue to offer it for free as there have been thousands of hours put into the game's development. However, we are offering it at a discount, which we believed was appropriate for an early-access game. If you choose to wait until chapter 5 (the final chapter) is released, you'll be paying a few dollars more. But that is, of course, your call.
As far as beta testing goes, we already have an editor and half a dozen beta testers. Our patrons on Patreon also get access prior to the public, and while sometimes things slip past our testers, they've yet to slip past our patrons. While we appreciate your offer to help with beta testing, we've got it covered.
If you feel that you can't justify paying for a game that isn't yet complete, we understand. Hopefully you'll give Bare Witness a go once it's complete.

if you check their patreon, you can see its still going but theres been a bunch of setbacks on chapter 4, as of 5 days ago theyve paused pledges cause they dont want to keep chargign people with allt he setbacks that keep happening
I would add a payment method other than PayPal. Personally hate the company and refuse to use their service. Also not a fan of downloading the game free (hard work deserves compensation) as it feels wrong. Ill find a way to donate.

We're working on it. Storm had an unexpected move into a new home, followed by the flu and a stomach bug. Slockie's rig had a meltdown and needed a new GPU. Both Slockie's rig and Storm are doing better, and we're currently plowing through the last quarter of chapter 4.

Saw this game recommended elsewhere checking it out now. The art and rendering look real good. Loving the roommates. Oh, and the two teachers in the orientation...on has my last name. Never expected to see that one pop up in a game...lol.

There's one scene that has two potential paths to get to, and only one of which shows up in the gallery. So you may not have missed that one. We'll be streamlining in the next release so that scene shows up properly in the gallery.
There is a walkthrough on F95, I believe, though we didn't create it and I've not checked to see how good it is.
This VN is amazing, and I don't say that about a lot of VN's. I can see a lot of thought went into this one, the back stories, the animations, they're so smooth. I love every single character.

hi i have some feedback for you ok my linux mint 20.1 both the exe 32 bit and 64 .exe's run in wineHQ lastest build from vista, 7, 8, 8.1 &10 and oddly nor dose the .SH under run and in terminal is this a know issue ??? but the .apk run fine of both tablets.
From what we understand, the issue is with the size of the game icon. It's too large, and it freaks Linux out. If you replace the icon with a smaller version it should work properly.
We didn't realize this would cause a problem for Linux users, but it'll be fixed in the next release.
Edit: It's been fixed and the link has been updated with the corrected build.
THANKS i did it and cropped the left and the right so as it just about touching the pink edges and it WORKED !!! to be honest i didn't think cutting about about 20 pixels out would do any thing BUT MAN WAS I WRONG !!! that could be the next update and more content i can't wait to dig my teeth into this , and the change from a 10.1" tablet to a 24" monitor is going to be mind blowing or should i go total NUTS and cast it to my Sony 42" CHEERS !!!
I know it would be fan service, but could you add a scene where Athena sells my liver? Waking up in a bath tub covered in ice with stitches on my stomach would be so damn hot.
To say that Athena is all that is love in the world would be an understatement, her and Heidi are all that matter to humanity and one day we will all worship at their altar. If you're not sure about this game, just realize that you are already going to play it and love it and some day regret how long you waited to do so. Great game, renders are awesome, and the guys making it are pretty cool.

the text color makes it hard to read in alot of the scenes
I agree. It would be better to have a text box around it. The white on white is too hard to read. Otherwise, it's a great start.
